Academy for Dental Assistants DOES NOT do Externship Placement. However, since dental assistants are currently in high demand, dental offices call the school daily looking for externs & looking to hire a DA. Below is a list of potential Externship Sites and/or Dental Assistant Positions from offices that have contacted the school.
Please keep in mind, the list does not guarantee the dental office posted is currently accepting Externs as the position may have already been filled. However, we strongly recommend that if a student is interested in a dental office on this list, the student should contact the dental office using the information in the post and reach out immediately regardless of how long ago the post was made. In many cases, once an office is completed with an Extern (3-6 months) they immediately begin looking for the next.
Academy for Dental Assistants also has Affiliation Agreements with most of the Corporate Dental Offices that students can apply for Externships such as Aspen Dental, Heartland Dental, Great Expressions Dental, Coast Dental, Florida Dental Centers, Greenberg Dental and Orthodontics and many others.
To Secure an Externship Site, students must call, email, and/or drop off their resume and cover letter along with the required Externship Forms. Students can apply for an Externship at any of the dental offices posted on this list OR with ANY Licensed Florida General Dentist Office.
