This course is intended for someone that may have been out of the dental field for a while, has been in a Specialty Practice and hasn’t done the EFDA procedures in a while, a new Dental Assistant that would like to practice their EFDA Skills, or someone that would like practice on the clinical procedures that will be required to be done in the “Certification Course”
Please Note: This Course DOES NOT give you “Certification” it is intended to be a “Hands-On Practice of EFDA Skills Only” . This course does not “teach” the EFDA procedures, it is intended for the “PRACTICE OF EFDA PROCEDURES ONLY”.
PLEASE NOTE: If you need actual instruction/teaching on EFDA procedures we can set up a private one-on-one time for you with an instructor on a different date to accommodate whatever it is you need instruction on. Contact the front office to schedule.

SUPPLIES REQUIRED – Students can bring their own instruments/materials to use for the Course or the supplies can be rented for the day for $50 “Instrument Rental” on our website. If Supplies are rented, all instruments & materials will be provided for the student and ready for them on the day of the Course.
SUPPLIES NEEDED FOR THE EFDA REFRESHER COURSE
4-hole slow-speed motor with a straight attachment (for polishing & making a temporary PFM)
Acrylic bur (to make Temporary PFM)
Basic setup (mirror/explorer/cotton pliers/air-water tip)
Disposable saliva ejectors (2)
Face mask (2)
Disposable gloves (5 pairs)
Safety glasses/Face Shield
Retraction Cord and Cord Packer (any size)
Temporary Crown and Bridge Material (whatever material your office uses)
Temporary Cement (any kind)
Disposable Prophy Angle, Floss
Alginate (enough for upper and lower impressions)
Plaster or Stone (to make Study Model of Alginate Impressions taken)
IRM and Cavit (any temporary filling material your office uses)
Base or Liner (Fuji, Dycal, Ketac, whatever your office uses)
2 Pieces of Dental Dam Material, along with Dental Dam Clamp (for any tooth), Forcep, and Frame
Tofflemire Retainer/Matrix Band, Wooden Wedges
You can bring your own supplies or they all can be rented for $50 for the day. Whichever type of materials your office uses to complete the procedures on the EFDA Procedure Checklist are ok to bring and use. Bring enough supplies to use in the course, approximately 2 of each disposable item.
IT IS RECOMMENED TO WATCH THE STEPS OF EACH EFDA PROCEDURE ON OUR YOUTUBE CHANNEL PRIOR TO ATTENDING THIS REFRESHER COURSE.

PLEASE NOTE: This course is a Hands-On Only Practice/Refresher Course in EFDA procedures. There is no test or course work to be done prior to attending the specific course date you select. (See “Class Dates” on the Home Page).
No Certification is given in this EFDA Practice/Refresher Course. This course is meant for clinical hands-on practice only of EFDA procedures for a dental assistant. It is strictly Hands-On practice there is no “Instruction” or “teaching” it is strickly for hands-on clinical Practice of the EFDA procedures.
Our business office must be notified in writing at least 7 days prior to the class start date of Part 2 – the Clinical Hands-on portion in our facility in order to transfer to another class date or a $100 transfer fee will be charged.
To receive a refund the business office must be notified in writing and the refund will be based on the Cancellation and Refund Policy listed on your Registration Form you completed online and also listed on our FAQ’s page under Refunds for the 1 Day Courses. All Refunds omit 3% transaction charges that student pays when using credit card/ debit card. Please Note: Part 1 and Part 2 of this course must be completed within 90 days of Registration or both Parts will expire.
