This hybrid certification course combines online learning with in-person evaluation. First, you’ll complete the online modules and state board exams for both the EFDA and Dental Radiology certifications (Part 1). Then, you’ll attend a hands-on clinical lab at our facility on the date you selected during registration (Part 2).
To earn your certifications, you must pass both exams with a score of 75% or higher and successfully demonstrate your ability to perform each procedure during the in-person lab.
You are eligible to take this course if you’ve completed at least three months of on-the-job training in a dental office and are confident in independently performing EFDA and Dental Radiology procedures. This is a certification course, not a training course, so you’ll be evaluated on the skills you’ve already learned. You’re welcome to complete each procedure using the method you were originally taught.
Before attending, you’ll need to submit an Employment Verification Form signed by a licensed dentist. This form confirms that you’ve worked under their supervision for at least three months and that you are capable of completing the required procedures independently.
Please note that this course does not provide instruction. It is designed solely to certify your competency in performing EFDA and Dental Radiology procedures as required by the state of Florida.
The total cost for the 1-Day EFDA & Dental Radiology Combo Certification Course is $900.
What’s Included
This course is divided into two required parts:
Part 1 is the online, self-paced exam portion. You’ll need to complete and submit both the EFDA and Dental Radiology state board exams through our website. These must be submitted no later than two days before your scheduled hands-on lab date. Passing this portion is required before attending the in-person session.
Part 2 is the clinical hands-on portion, held at our training facility from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. During this session, you’ll demonstrate your ability to perform both Expanded Functions and Dental Radiology procedures in a real clinical setting.
This course is delivered in a hybrid format, combining online learning with in-person assessment. To complete Part 1 successfully, students must have access to a computer with internet and be comfortable navigating basic online tools. The online portion includes study materials and the two required state board exams.
To help you get started, an Introduction Section is provided with clear, step-by-step instructions for completing the online portion before attending the in-person hands-on lab.
Important: Some students have experienced technical issues when using an Apple iPad to take the exams. For the best experience, we recommend using Google Chrome in an Incognito Window on a desktop or laptop computer.
