Our 12-Week Entry-Level Dental Assisting Training Program is designed to prepare students for a successful career as an entry-level dental assistant. At Academy for Dental Assistants, we understand that many students learn best through hands-on training rather than traditional lectures. That’s why our curriculum focuses on practical, skills-based learning while still providing the essential knowledge needed to succeed in the dental field.

Before working chairside with a dentist, it’s important for future dental assistants to gain a strong foundation in basic dental concepts, techniques, and professionalism. Our accelerated program teaches students the knowledge, clinical skills, and confidence necessary to begin their careers in as little as 12 weeks.

Upon successful completion of the program, students will receive their Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) Certification and Dental Radiology Certification, fully preparing them to begin working as a Dental Assistant.

The 12-Week Entry-Level Dental Assistant Training Program is an accelerated course and requires a minimum of 8–10 hours per week dedicated to chapter readings, homework, watching videos, and studying outside of class.

Step 1: Complete our 12-Week Entry-Level Dental Assistant Training Program & attend class one day per week for 12 weeks at our facility.

Step 2: Gain real-world experience through a 200-hour Dental Assisting Externship at a general dental office of your choice.

Step 3: Upon successful completion, students are awarded their Florida Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) Certification and Dental Radiology Certification.

Your State Board Exams and Florida Board of Dentistry Certifications are included in the 12-Week Program — no additional fees required.

In our 12-Week Entry-Level Dental Assistant Training Program, students will learn:

  • How to work in a dental office setting and confidently perform the expanded duties of a dental assistant.

  • How to use dental equipment and learn real-world techniques to provide safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.

  • Hands-on training in essential dental assisting procedures to build the skills needed for real-world clinical settings.

This program is designed to prepare you with the knowledge, practical skills, and confidence to begin your new career in the dental field.

Upon successful completion of the 12 Week Entry Level Dental Assistant Training Program & 200-Hour Externship, students will be awarded their Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) and Dental Radiology Certification.

Our 12 Week Entry Level Dental Assistant Training Program is an Approved Provider with the Florida Board of Dentistry.
