What You’ll Learn
Each week, you will develop your skills step by step through a balanced combination of instruction and hands-on training. Our program is designed to prepare you for real clinical environments by focusing on practical, job-ready experience.
Throughout the program, you will learn how to:
- Work confidently in a dental office, including patient support and daily clinical tasks
- Safely use dental instruments, equipment, and technology
- Perform essential clinical skills such as sterilization, infection control, and chairside assisting
You will practice these skills in a hands-on setting, allowing you to apply what you learn in real time. This practical approach builds confidence and prepares you to step into a dental office with assurance.
We minimize long lectures and emphasize active, hands-on learning. This format keeps you engaged, helps you retain information more effectively, and accelerates skill development.
By the end of the program, you will have the certifications, hands-on experience, and professional training that employers seek in a dental assistant.
Certification & Externship
After finishing the 12-week course and completing your 200-hour externship, you’ll earn:
- Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) Certification
- Dental Radiology Certification
Our program is approved by the Florida Board of Dentistry, so you’ll graduate fully qualified to begin working in a dental office.
Please note: Externship placement and continuation are subject to the discretion of the dental office and are not guaranteed.
Please Note:
The 12-Week Dental Assistant Training Program is fast-paced. Students should also plan to spend 8 to 10 hours per week outside of class on reading, assignments, video lessons, and review. This extra study time is essential for success.
Step 1: Enroll in the Program
Begin your journey toward becoming a dental assistant by enrolling in our 12-Week Entry-Level Dental Assistant Training Program. Students attend class just one day per week at our training facility while completing additional coursework online throughout the program.
Step 2: Build Real-World Experience
After developing your skills in the classroom, you’ll complete a 200-hour externship in a general dental office. This gives you the opportunity to gain hands-on experience, work with patients, and apply what you’ve learned in a real dental setting.
Step 3: Earn Your Certifications
Upon successful completion of the program and externship requirements, you’ll graduate with your Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) and Dental Radiology Certifications— certifications that are required for dental assistants in Florida.
No Surprise Testing Fees
All required course exams and certifications are included in your tuition, so you won’t encounter additional testing or certification fees while completing the program.
Please note that certain enrollment and program requirements are not included in tuition, such as professional liability insurance, uniforms, required supplies, and any fees associated with applying for your Florida Dental Radiographer certification after graduation.
